GoodWill Giving or Hunting?
A lot of time we turn our noses up at the idea of hand me downs but the truth is that without them some people would not be able to function. A thrift store or second hand shop sometimes helps peoples in more ways than one. It allows for some people just to get clothes and items that they may need, whereas other people it helps them to create an amazing retro sense of fashion.
GIVING:
When you are moving out of your dorms, old apartments, doing spring cleaning or anything, before you throw something away think twice! Giving to a thrift store of some kind is great, not only because you are helping other but because they pay you for your old treasures. If you take items to Goodwill you can use them as a tax write off, which most people do not consider. If you take your clothing to store such as Plato's Closet, they will give you cash on the spot! Or you can always do it the old fashioned way and sell your things yourself (ie garage sale). A majority of times college students do not think about taxes or the money that they would get back so they go for a quick buck or better yet just throw out the old "junk". But not any more, you have just been informed on ways to turn trash into a new treasure, also known as money or dinero!
FASHIONISTA:
Now on the other hand you may just be a bargain shopper and like some old fashioned goods. If that is the case these stores actually have some great deals! All of these store sort through the clothes before putting them out for sale. The only thing is that certain areas do not get as good of a selection as others. Sadly the bigger and richer the city, the nicer the merchandise selection will be.
