For YBF chicks all around the world seeking a doll that is a reflection of themselves....Barbie put down the products and went NATURAL! At least a group has made sure she did.  Get the deets inside.....
Here a interesting Christmas gift you never expected.....a black Barbie doll with an afro!
Sure, Barbie has had "black" friends in the past, but they were usually on that creamy crack. This Barbie is rocking a natural 'fro, thanks to a group of creative folks.  They’ve remixed the dolls’ manufactured hair into natural styles using pipe cleaners, end papers, and boiling water.
The doll is the result of efforts by an African-American natural hair group who plan to distribute the Barbies to young girls at Booker T. Washington apartments in Columbus, GA for the holidays.  The
This is a fab initiative and I think it should be done with ALL women to spread the message that there is more than one type of beauty. And shows that Nicki Minaj isn't the only black Barbie around this season.

Black Female Extravaganza 2011 March 19, 2011 at 7pm Phillips Center for the Performing Arts The women have been practicing and having rehearsals since last semester and it all came down to this finally show. They have just one chance to get each line right, execute each move with perfect precision, and hit every note on time. The room slowly fills up with friends and family waiting for the show to start. A voice comes over the speaker system, "Please stand for the Negro National Anthem".  The Black Female Extravaganza (BFE) singers take the stage and give everyone a sample of what they have been waiting for. The introduction had everyone hooked, with angelic voices singing in unison but still managing to maintain their own unique tones for the audience to cherish.
