What happened?

Just when everyone was getting to a point where they were enjoying the Pink Friday artist,Nicki Minaj or at least tolerating her without complaint she did something that no one saw coming. But before we get to the unforgettable moment that has most wondering what this artist was thinking, let's look at some of the videos that made her tolerable and loved along the way.

This years Grammy's were set to a sad tone as they commemorated Whitney Houston. And to close the show was Nicki Minaj. A lot of people know Nicki to be controversial so this stunt is honestly not a complete surprise but instead thought to be done in poor taste. If you are not religious then you probably could careless. But if you are then you could see how those who are Catholic could view this as offensive. The depiction of an exorcism.... no one cares. The actor on stage, pretending to be the Pope walk her in, the Alter Boys having half naked women dancing in front of them, or even the background of a church was enough to spark the match the fire waiting to be lit. Already many thought of Nicki Minaj as being risky, controversial and to some unholy but many view this performance as crossing the line. Personally, I thought her performance was not special and honestly it did not surprise me because I think a lot of her actions are done in poor taste. It was not until I heard a song that is commonly song in Church every Sunday if not every other Sunday were I realized why I initially did not like Nicki Minaj, she does not know the concept of boundaries or have a sense of respect for anyone.

A majority of her fan simply enjoy her works and look at her as a talented artist. All she does is have multiple personalities (poking fun at those with split personalities) that she uses to animate her rhymes that are not at all complex or involve any talent. In addition to the fact that she stole all of who she is from the original MC that were Divas (Lil' Kim and many more) but refuses to give them credit where it is due.  I think that truth be told to me it doesn't matter if Nicki Minaj had done a different performance but I believe that this gave people a different perspective on the how far she will go to gain some additional attention. Realistically, I think that she was not that great to begin with but hey this just added fuel to my "I don't like Nicki fire".

But let's face it artist always do things that offend and disappoint someone, so the real question is did this performance break or make her more of a star?
