Red Bull Soundclash is a totally unique clash of sounds, styles and creativity, where two bands don't battle each other, but instead collaborate to create an innovative live music performance. The show features two bands with different music styles facing off on two stages positioned on opposite ends of the venue with the audience in the middle. In a series of four rounds, the bands perform various tasks, some rehearsed, and some improvised, to showcase the array of their musical abilities.

On New Year’s Eve, Miami’s Bayfront Park will be THE destination for music lovers as Red Bull Soundclash presents an incomparable live music showcase featuring a first-time ever match up between Ludacris and Mike Posner. The pre-show festivities begin at 7:00 p.m.. The main show begins at 9 p.m. and will culminate with a fireworks display and official countdown to the New Year. General admission is free and open to the public. A limited number of VIP upgrades are available for purchase.

Break It Down

The Red Bull Soundclash format takes each band through a series of collaborative challenges that makes it less of a battle and more of a musical conversation.

1st Round: The Cover - Each band plays their own version of the same cover song.
2nd Round: The Takeover - A collaborative round where one band will start to play one of their original tunes and mid-way through the other band takes over, seamlessly finishing the song in their own style
3rd Round: The Clash - This will challenge the band’s versatility as they’ll have to adapt their songs to whatever music genre the DJ is spinning ( I think this was my favorite part of the show. Being able to see the raw talent of each band and artist is something that you can not rehearse. Personally I think that Mike Posner too this section all the way home)
4th Round: The Wild Card – Each act brings a special guest on stage to join their performance. (Ludacris brought Uncle Luke and Mike Posner brought the University of Miami's Drum Line)

Meet the Players

Known from the streets to the big screen, Ludacris is a star on multiple fronts - a Grammy Award winning hip-hop artist, movie star and once upon a time a radio DJ. Bringing comedy and entertainment to his rhymes has landed Ludacris onto the Top 10 Billboard’s Hot 100 several times and with celebrity collaborations such as 50 Cent, Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes and Eminem- Making his second Red Bull Soundclash appearance in the Dirty South, Luda is sure to put on a quite a show.

Mike Posner is a modern day triple threat – singer, songwriter and producer - hailing from ethnically and economically diverse Detroit suburb of Southfield, MI. His eclectic, crafted collection of soulful tunes blended with hip-hop showcases an authentic artist motivated by life experiences. Posner is relatable and ready to accept the Red Bull Soundclash challenge.

To say the least the show was great from beginning to end! I was super excited and was lucky enough to be on the side that had Ludacris on stage. The layout goes as follows, there are two stages with a DJ both on a high stand in the middle. We just picked one side and you do not know who will appear on the stage in front of you. We are graced with the presence of my "ex-husband", Ludacris. (Hey I loved him when he came out and that was my on going joke back in the day). As the show progressed there were a few moments that people would boo Mike Posner because they had come mainly to see Ludacris but I must say that Mike Posner can BLOW! That man can sing his heart and it is amazing the whole way through.

After the show and fireworks we went to Denny's! Yes and here are a few pictures of the hilarious things that we saw. Sadly we are missing a majority of those pictures but the jokes and memories will live on.
